[#transports] Sankéo strengthens network security all summer long!
Ensuring the safety of passengers and staff on Sankéo buses Sankéo network buses is paramount.
Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole and Keolis Perpignan Méditerranée have decided to step up safety through a range of actions, as well as by deploying material resources.
- A Central Command Post has been set up and operates throughout the Sakéo network. It provides a permanent link with drivers, as well as real-time vehicle location.
- All the network's equipment is equipped with video projection cameras, both on the buses and at certain stops.
- All workstations used by Sankéo agents have an emergency button, directly linked to the Sankéo Central Command Post and the municipal police.
- Eight mediators have been made available to complement the Sankéo staff in charge of security. In addition, security guards are on hand during evening services, events, etc.
The aim is to enhance everyone's safety, by encouraging cooperation between the various players (national police, Perpignan and Canet-en-Roussillon municipal police forces, etc.) and to ensure fluid, rapid communication thanks to a hand-held communication system that will enable rapid intervention in the event of an incident.
During a Perpignan-Canet bus journey, Jean-Charles Moriconi, Vice-Chairman of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, accompanied by Michel Saut, Deputy Mayor of Canet-en-Roussillon and Sylvie Samtmann, Canet-en-Roussillon City Councillor and PMM Community Councillor, Fréderic Guillaumon, Deputy Mayor of Perpignan and PMM Community Councillor, and law enforcement representatives, presented the enhanced security measures on the Sankéo network for the 2023 summer period.
