✂️[#inauguration] Casa Xanxo, an exceptional venue in the center of Perpignan!
🧱After several months' work, Casa Xanxo, an exceptional early Renaissance entrepreneur's residence built by Bernard Xanxo, was inaugurated on Wednesday July 12 and now houses the new Centre d'Interprétation de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (CIAP).
🔍Listed as a historic monument since 1919, the renovation of this magnificent building has been the subject of numerous studies: preventive archaeological excavations, studies for the restoration of the decor, treatment and restoration of the original materials, ... .
👨👩👦A new place, a new gateway to heritage accessible to all. 📣 A tourist welcome is provided, guided tours are organized, workshops and educational activities, heritage events and much more are on offer.
🤝Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole is proud to have supported the project to the tune of 516,700 euros (excl. VAT) out of a total project cost of 3,692,274 euros (incl. VAT).
The inauguration took place in the presence of Louis Aliot, mayor of the city of Perpignan, Robert Vila, president of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, Rodrigue Furcy, Préfet des Pyrénées-Orientales, Agnès Langevine, vice-president of La Région Occitanie.
