Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole is responsible for water management. 14 communes are managed directly, via the Régie des Eaux. It is responsible for collecting, purifying, distributing and then treating wastewater for more than 40,000 inhabitants. The remaining 22 communes are managed by delegated companies: Saur, Véolia or Suez.
