👉Inauguration of the extension of the new South cemetery of the city of Saleilles!
📍 This new cemetery located south of the city, is accessible by car via Morocco Street or on foot via the existing old cemetery.
Numerous exterior and interior improvements have been made: a 56-space parking lot (including 2 reserved for people with reduced mobility), a 1,800 m2 memorial garden with trees, a pedestrian link between the old cemetery and the new one, a gathering area and many others.
🗓️ Work began in October 2018 and the opening of the new cemetery was effective from May 2021. An extension of 3900m2 was carried out, the new cemetery of Saleilles now covers a total area of 16,000 m2.
The creation of an Ossuary located in the extension area of the new cemetery was financed by Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole up to 7200 € TTC for a total amount of 14 280 € TTC.
Present at this inauguration were R.Garrido, mayor of St-Féliu d'Avall and community councillor at Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole representing R.Vila, President of PMM, J.Pezin, deputy mayor of Saleilles representing F.Rallo, mayor of Saleilles, as well as many members of his municipal council and representatives of the companies that worked on the site.
