On Tuesday November 26, the Casa Maria Lluis residence was officially inaugurated in the heart of Toulouges.
Supported by Marcou Habitat, this exemplary project meets the need for accessible housing while promoting sustainable, inclusive urban development.
Comprising 8 social housing units, this residence offers :
- 6 low-rent PLUS apartments for low-income families.
- 2 PAI apartments, reserved for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, illustrating an inclusive and supportive approach.
This project benefited from the financial and logistical support of several partners:
A joint loan guarantee between the town of Toulouges and Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole (PMM).
A direct financial contribution from PMM of €58,120, demonstrating its strong commitment to social housing.
The residence also pays tribute to the renowned local artist Maria Lluis, famous for her works in painting and ceramics, whose artistic contribution radiates far beyond the region.
At the inauguration, a number of personalities praised the project for its high social value:
Nicolas Barthe, Mayor of Toulouges, Alain Dario, Vice-President of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, representing President Robert Vila, Toussainte Calabrèse, Vice-President of the Pyrénées-Orientales département, Julien Baraillé, Regional Councillor for Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée, Maria Lluis, painter and symbolic godmother of the residence, Jean-Pierre Munich, President of Marcou Habitat.
Members of the Toulouges Town Council were also present, demonstrating their unanimous support for this local initiative.
