🎼 Inauguration of the new orchestras in Saint-Laurent de la Salanque
 
🎼 Thursday, December 15, two new orchestras were inaugurated in Saint-Laurent de la Salanque: Les Orchestres à l'école. 🎼
📍 The Joseph Cortada orchestra, composed of 25 students from the Joseph Cortada elementary school and the Jean Mermoz middle school orchestra, with 27 students from the 5th grade, make up the Orchestras at School.
👉 This is a musical learning action implemented by the Urban Community of Perpignan Mediterranean Metropolis and the Conservatory of Music Montserrat Caballé with the support of Department of Pyrénées-Orientales which aims to give as many children as possible the opportunity to practice a musical instrument while being integrated into an orchestra.
🎷The device created by the Association " School Orchestra The "School Orchestras" program intervenes from the beginning of the process of creating school orchestras by contributing to the financing of the instrumental parks and by accompanying the project leaders throughout the process.
🗒️ The association provides speakers with a large number of tools to enrich their teaching (adapted scores and repertoires, teaching guide...). It also designs for them a training program adapted to their needs.
Volunteer students (musicians or not) from the Joseph Cortada primary school and the Jean Mermoz secondary school in the town of Saint-Laurent de la Salanque, are united around a common project: the creation of an orchestra that will grow and flourish over three years. At an average rate of 2 hours of instrumental practice per week, so that the students can progress concretely and quickly reach a quality musical level.
The Orchestre à l'Ecole symbolizes above all the will of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, which is doing its utmost to ensure that cultural excellence is at the service of an educational ambition that is resolutely adapted to its time and perfectly in tune with the expectations and needs of our citizens.
