A look back at a major step forward for public safety in Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole!
Thursday June 6, 2024 saw the official handover of new "ICOM" handheld radios to the public security forces, at the amphitheater at the Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole headquarters.
Robert VILA, President of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, the Mayor of Perpignan, PMM Vice-President for Urban Policy, and Jean-Charles MORICONI, Mayor of Pollestres, Vice-President for Transport, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by representatives of the 26 municipalities involved, the Gendarmerie, the Direction Interdépartementale de la Police Nationale and our transport delegate Keolis.
This new equipment, in line with the decisions taken at the CISPD plenary meeting on May 2, 2024, aims to strengthen synergy between the various police forces in the area. Interoperability with the national police and the gendarmerie will enable better coordination and increased responsiveness, optimizing the safety and efficiency of interventions throughout the territory.
Thanks to all participants for their presence and their commitment to enhanced safety.
